The following science training opportunities are open to all science teachers in our region:
Please read all of the following information below. The glossary of terms will be helpful as you decide which training option is right for you. Glossary of Terms: Fully Trained: Teachers who have previously (prior to 2020) completed the AMSTI Science Notebooking course and attended AMSTI Year 1 and Year 2 face-to-face (f2f) kit training for a grade level since the implementation of the 2015 Science COS. This status qualifies teachers to take any AMSTI Unit Training needed (f2f or online, if kits are available) moving forward. Note: Teachers with two online course failures are limited to the F2F option. AMSTI Science Foundational Training: Initial training for “new to AMSTI” teachers as a prerequisite for AMSTI Unit Training. AMSTI Unit Training: Training on classroom resources and materials/equipment aligned with grade-level specific standards. Moving forward, grade level training will be offered by unit rather than the previous Year 1/Year 2 model. This training may be presented face-to-face or online depending on the training level of the teacher.
Your AMSTI specialist is available for help with registration (see the list below for specialist's grade bands). Your training choices will be verified by AMSTI staff. You will receive a confirmation email for training within the next few weeks.
